Fondation Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba
The Foundation Cheikh Bamba of North America (FONCAB) is a religious non-profit organization dedicated to uniting and supporting Mourides across the Americas. Inspired by the teachings of Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba, our mission is rooted in the values of faith, solidarity, and service. FONCAB strives to create a strong and cohesive community where members can preserve their religious and cultural identity while contributing positively to society. We work to promote unity and cooperation among Mourides by combining resources to develop educational, social, economic, and humanitarian initiatives. Additionally, FONCAB collaborates with other organizations that share similar objectives to strengthen our collective impact and extend our reach beyond the Mouride community.
Our History
FONCAB - U.S
FONCAB was established in 2015 in Detroit, Michigan, following a workshop of delegates led by Serigne Mame Mor Mbacké, the Khalif of Serigne Murtada, son of the founder of the Mouride Brotherhood. Since its inception, FONCAB has expanded to include 44 chapters across the United States and Canada, working tirelessly to uphold the values of Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba and serve the community.

FONCAB’s mission is to preserve and promote the religious and cultural identity of Mourides in the Americas through unity, education, and social responsibility. We seek to create a strong and self-sustaining community that upholds Islamic values while actively engaging in social and economic development. Our vision extends beyond the Mouride community, as we aim to foster mutual understanding, cooperation, and peace with other organizations and communities that share our commitment to service and humanitarian efforts. By offering educational programs, charitable initiatives, and religious guidance, FONCAB empowers individuals to deepen their faith, support those in need, and contribute meaningfully to society. Our long-term goal is to establish a legacy of unity and service that future generations can build upon.
Leadership & Organization

FONCAB is structured as a well-organized network of chapters that work together to fulfill the organization’s mission. At the national level, FONCAB is led by a dedicated leadership team that oversees its strategic direction, ensures the implementation of its programs, and fosters collaboration between chapters. The current president, Serigne Fallou Samb, plays a key role in guiding the organization’s efforts and maintaining its commitment to the teachings of Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba. Each of the 44 chapters across the United States and Canada operates under this leadership while also maintaining local autonomy to address the specific needs of their communities. These chapters organize religious events, educational programs, and charitable initiatives, all while working collectively towards the broader mission of FONCAB. Through strong leadership and an engaged membership, FONCAB continues to thrive and grow as a pillar of support for Mourides in North America.
Our Activities & Programs
FONCAB - U.S
FONCAB is actively involved in a variety of initiatives aimed at fostering religious education, social development, and community support. The organization hosts religious gatherings, conferences, and educational workshops to help members deepen their understanding of Mouride teachings and Islamic principles. In addition, FONCAB plays a crucial role in humanitarian efforts, such as food distribution during Ramadan, providing medical supplies to those in need, and supporting families facing economic hardship. The organization also emphasizes youth engagement by offering leadership training, mentorship programs, and volunteer opportunities that encourage young Mourides to stay connected to their faith and heritage. FONCAB’s activities extend to environmental initiatives, advocating for sustainable practices and community clean-up efforts. By addressing both spiritual and practical needs, FONCAB ensures that its members can actively participate in society while staying true to their values.
